Why Maximum Q?
If you're a fan of space exploration or aerospace, you may recall hearing the term Max Q during liftoff. It’s the point when a rocket is experiencing peak mechanical stress caused by the most physical pressure from the atmosphere. It happens about one minute into the mission, and the rocket’s design must meet and pass this test to continue.
Max Q was an inspiration for Maximum Q Leadership as leaders often face an intense challenge early on in a new assignment. Having the right mental fitness, through The Five Q’s, serves as the right rocket design for passing the test to continue your leadership flight.
Founded by Lisa Shumate,
a media industry veteran who has led organizational transformations and served on national boards, Maximum Q is built on the principle that leadership is not just about what you know or have achieved, but about how you influence positive change and develop those around you. Lisa's distinguished career, including her two books on personal and career leadership and her work mentoring future leaders, highlights the importance of self-awareness and intentional growth in leadership effectiveness.
